Region is most commonly a geographical term that is used in various ways among the different branches of geography. In general, a region is a medium-scale area of land or water, smaller than the whole areas of interest (which could be, for example, the world, a nation, a river basin, mountain range, and so on), and larger than a specific site. A region may be seen as a collection of smaller units (as in "the New England states") or as one part of a larger whole (as in "the New England region of the United States"). Regions can be defined by physical characteristics, human characteristics, and functional characteristics. As a way of describing spatial areas, the concept of regions is important and widely used among the many branches of geography, each of which can describe areas in regional terms. For example, ecoregion is a term used in environmental geography, cultural region in cultural geography, bioregion in biogeography, and so on. The field of geography that studies regions themselves is called regional geography. From Wikipedia under the

I have always enjoyed watching airplanes. How old would I have to be to work at my small regional airport? My airport is East Texas Regional Airport. Asked by Andy - Mon Nov 10 18:34:30 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. It kind of depends. Some small FBOs really don't have a minimum age, and I've had 15 year old kids fuel my aircraft (who probably had more hours than me!). Larger airports like GGG probably have municipality oversight. There are lots of places to work there, but I would ask the airport at their site: See what they say. Don't underestimate the folks in aviation. They are usually willing to help a young person who is interested in flying, if they can. Good luck. Answered by Eugene M - Tue Nov 11 15:34:07 2008 Why do they put some western teams in the east or other regional brackets?
Q. Also, same with the eastern, southern, northern, and midwestern teams. For example, why is UConn over in the western bracket? They are a northern regional team. I mean, teams from different regions should be put in their respective regional bracket and not regional brackets that are not in their repective region. Same thing goes to host cities as well. Asked by Rooker - Sun Mar 15 18:17:08 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. They want teams to play against teams that they arent used to playing. It helps for ratings and to see how good you really are. Answered by Henry - Sun Mar 15 20:27:37 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Regional"
