Help me figure out which one to choose for my maid of honor please!?
Q. Ok, I'm getting married next year, maybe spring, early summer. I'm 37, 2nd marriage. I have an adult daughter (19) who is mentally (maturity speaking) right around her age, although she can be more mature depending on the situation, however she's a bit meek and introverted. I have one lady who I actually consider to be my best friend but although I love her to death she's kinda not reliable, fairly flaky and well, she's goth. But she does have a great sense of style overall, that's just her chosen style. I love her for everything she is and isn't, I love her for who she is, however I don't know that she could come through with all things the maid of honor's duties entail. A. That really is a tough one. I would start with your daughter if I were you - family should always come first, especially a daughter. Let her know that you definitely want her in the wedding party, and you would be honored to have her as your maid of honor. But tell her that before she gives you an answer, you want to give her an idea of what you would need to expect from her and how much you would be relying on her. Make sure she truly understands that before you let her give you an answer. Let her know too, that if she doesn't feel up to the enormous (stress enormous) responsibility, then you will totally understand. How do I deal with my co-workers music?
Q. I currently sit in a cubicle. On one side of me I have a 25 year old guy who listens to heavy metal music and makes me want to stick knives in my ears. On the other side of me I have a 50 year old woman who listens to country music all day, which to me is worse. I have nothing against either of those music types, but they just aren't my cup of tea! They cant' hear each other's music, but I can hear both. To make matters worse, I'm new here. They are set in their ways, so I can't say anything. I will be moving into a new office (my own!) when construction is complete upstairs of our current suite at the end of February. I know I have to deal with this temporarily. How to cope? A. Can you put earphones in and listen to you own music? That way you can drown them out yet it not be loud enough that you can't hear when someone is trying to get your attention. Good luck...I understand your frustration!

Where should I hire a wedding consultant?
Q. For the past year, my fiance and I thought we had our wedding plans all figured out on our own, but now that it's 8 months away, recent circumstances have changed everything! We now want to get married in the town we got engaged in, which is about 2 hours away from where we live. Since I'm finishing up grad school, I don't have the time to plan an entire wedding from scratch by May, so we'll definitely need to hire a wedding coordinator. My question is, should we look for one here in the town where we live, or one in the town where our ceremony/reception will be held? Please help! =)

A. If you've already booked your reception, talk to someone there about if they offer coordination services for an additional charge. If they don't, ask if they can recommend someone they have worked with more than once in the past. If you haven't booked your reception, then do a google search for wedding coordinators in the city where you're planning the wedding (or the nearest larger city if it's a small town). If it's a popular destination wedding spot, there should be no shortage of people who coordinate weddings. do not hire someone without interviewing them and getting references.
